Seeing as the Switch 2 isn't backwards compatible, and is instead using emulation(and not every Switch 1 game will work on the Switch 2 anyway), why not just just dump your Switch games onto a Steam Deck if you're looking to play on a new device? By all accounts they look and run just about as good as the Switch 2 versions. And you can move your library without having to factory reset your Switch, so you won't lose access to your 'virtual game keys' on the old system.
I am being a teensy bit snarky here. But I mean, as long as we're technically emulating Switch games, why not look at all the options?
Nintendo is clearly trying to leverage these new game keys to migrate people to the new ecosystem and keep them there, and I do not trust that. I also do not appreciate the precedent. I'm not sure I would have ever been interested in a PS5 if they had implemented a system like that.
